Enphase (Solar) + GivEnergy (Battery)
We recently completed a comprehensive full property backup solution with solar and battery storage that significantly enhances energy efficiency installed in multiple locations. This installation not only harnesses renewable energy but also showcases cutting-edge technology and meticulous craftsmanship.
The Details
Nature of Installation:
Prior to this installation, there was no property backup, solar panels, or battery storage in place.
Summary of Installation:
We installed solar panels with microinverters from Enphase along with a full property backup system using a Gateway and “All-In-One” product from GivEnergy.
Locations for Equipment:
- Large Metal Frame Workshop: Solar panels were strategically placed on both roofs with an Enphase microinverter underneath each one. A new TT specification consumer unit with SPD was installed for the Enphase system along with a GivEnergy AIO battery.
- Main Residence (Front of Property): The Gateway for full propoerty backup had to be installed close to the incoming mains supply.
- Outside Cabling Routes: We established efficient cabling routes between the workshop and the main residence.
Key Specifications:
- Maximum Solar PV Power Generation: 7.2 kWp via 18 x 500Watt panels from JA Solar with microinverters
- Usable Battery Capacity: 13.5 kWh
Product Showcase:
- Top of the range Enphase IQ8 AC Microinverters, K2 Fixings for metal roofs.
- Full property backup with automatic switch over in the event of power failure.
- Ensured safety and stability with two earth rods, one for the main property and the other for the workshop.
- Implemented a TT consumer unit in the workshop specifically for Enphase circuits.
- Deployed heavy-duty 16mm SWA power cabling for robust connectivity.

- Integrated GivEnergy AIO and Gateway in parallel with Enphase microinverter system for efficient energy management.
